Library News and Notes- March. Amazon's 100 books to read in your lifetime list...

Have you seen this list from Amazon? I don't usually put a lot of stock in these kinds of lists, just because they are so subjective. One thing I really did like about this list was that it included kids books. After all if it's a "read in your lifetime" list we probably weren't carrying "All the President's Men" in our Lisa Frank backpacks, but I bet at some point "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" was there.

Also these kind of lists are fun to see how many you've actually read. I've read 30 of this list. Which I think is pretty good. Though I can probably borrow a "Wimpy Kid" book from my nephews if I wanted to boost my numbers. How many have you read?

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Caterpillar I think we need to have a talk

  1. 14, meh. I like the way they went about making up the list though. Normally those "number of books to read" type lists are ranked lists that are at least 50-75% the same as others, just in a different order. I was surprised at the number of titles I've flat out never heard of.

    1. Right, usually it's just like A Brit Lit/American Lit class reading list all jumbled together. This one has a little more contemporary stuff mixed in, maybe a little more realistic for what people will actually read.
